Smeeden Foreman worked with Cleveland and Redcar Council to design a series of proposals to make improvements to this coastal village in North Yorkshire and  the surrounding “Valley of iron”.  Design interventions included creating a central heart to the village, recreational residential areas, greening the seafront approach and the redesign of seafront areas. Restoration of the historic jetty and wider connectivity to the museum, walking tracks and NCR1 cycle route were also part of the project.
