This project involved the refurbishment and widening of over 22km of towpaths to create part of SUSTRANS cycle route no.66 that leads into central Leeds. The route runs adjacent to the Leeds - Liverpool Canal. Smeeden Foreman were responsible for survey and detail design of this part of the route.  The contract was also administered and supervised by Smeeden Foreman.

 

The client body included British Waterways, Leeds City Council and Bradford Metropolitan District Council. Due to the number of parties involved, the project required a high level of coordination to deliver the successful outcome.
