TREE SURVEYS & INSPECTIONS

The benefits of trees are well known and a scheme which successfully integrates mature trees will be positively received in planning and ultimately become a more popular and profitable development.

We undertake tree surveys for planning applications (BS5837:2012). This makes an assessment of trees in relation to design, demolition and construction.  Trees are a material consideration in the UK planning system and at Smeeden Foreman we have an experienced team who are well placed to provide the necessary information and advice to developers about the arboricultural implications of the proposed development, along with methods of protection to retained trees for the duration of the construction works.

We can also provide advice and assistance to our clients with applications for works to TPO trees or notifications for works in Conservation Areas.

For clients needing to carry out works to trees which may have suitable bat roost features, we can undertake a climbing inspection to ensure that there is no breach of wildlife legislation.  We have a team of fully trained rope and harness climbers (City and Guilds qualified), who are also licenced bat ecologists, on stand-by to take a closer inspection.
