Smeeden Foreman were appointed to assess the potential impact of a tall chimney proposed to mitigate odour concerns at a local food processing facility.  The landscape character assessment was prepared in accordance with NRW's LANDMAP approach to landscape character and representative viewpoints were selected that considered the potential impacts of the development on nearby heritage assets that included the Grade II* listed St. Margaret's Church (The Marble Church), Grade II* Bodelwyddan Castle and Registered Park and Garden and the Grade I listed Kinmell Hall and Grade II* Kinmel Park.

The proposal successfully received planning consent, without the need for a public inquiry.
