BINGLEY RELIEF ROAD
The A650 Bingley Bypass, threads between the between a railway and canal, including the famous Bingley five-rise locks. The 4.5km road was opened in 2004 and won the Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award.
Smeeden Foreman prepared the earthwork strategy for the road allowing for the restoration of adjacent derelict land which led to considerable cost savings for the scheme. We also designed the soft landscape scheme that included native trees and shrubs, ornamental trees and shrubs, grasslands, wildflower mixes and marginal planting for wetlands.
