Robin Copeland

Landscape Director & Chartered Landscape Architect 


Robin Copeland is a landscape architect with a background in horticulture and has returned to Smeeden Foreman after gaining a wide range of experience within varied roles in the voluntary and public sectors.  These roles have included consultant, client, regulatory, programme/ project manager and contractor.


Robin has a practical background in horticulture, which naturally led to landscape contracting, before his formal training as a landscape architect.  He has since worked on a wide range of projects, including numerous high profile projects, within urban regeneration, public realm, green infrastructure, housing, commercial and industrial, transport, historic environment, education, play, sport and social care within the public, private and voluntary sectors.


These projects have included environmental assessment incorporating best practice working methods, mitigation, public consultations and exhibitions, planning applications, public inquiries and local plan examinations, project development and management, detailed design and implementation of new landscape proposals, historic gardens and designed landscapes, conservation and enhancement and, preparation of landscape management plans and contracts.
